[ARCHIVED] Free Seminar for Property Owners and Managers

Landlord Group

The Westfield Police Department will host its quarterly free seminar for property owners and managers on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 6:00 pm, at Shaker Farms Country Club. An optional dinner and social hour will take place from 6 pm to 7 pm, with the informational portion of the seminar to start promptly at 7:00 pm.

For our November seminar we will be discussing local ordinances that can effect you as a property owner.  We will cover the topics of snow removal, trash pickup and several others, culminating with a discussion on the lighting ordinance in Westfield.  For this portion of the seminar we will have guest speaker Jane Slade of Anatomy of Light and Speclines to talk about how you can keep your property in compliance with Westfield's lighting ordinance.  Jane Slade is the founder of Anatomy of Night, which advocates for natural darkness for all living things. She is a researcher and educator in the field of lighting on the impacts of light upon the environment, wildlife, and human health.  She is also a partner at Speclines, a lighting manufacturer’s representative agency specializing in outdoor lighting for municipalities, universities, corporations, commercial developments, and transportation agencies through an interdisciplinary approach of blending design, science, and the latest technology.  Please join us to discuss our local ordinances and to see how you can remain in compliance within our City.

There will be on optional dinner for a fee of about $25 from 6-7 pm, followed by the free informational portion of our meeting at 7:00 pm.  Although it is not a requirement to RSVP for this seminar, it is incredibly helpful for planning purposes.  You can RSVP by clicking this link.
